The High Root That Remembers

Riverwatch

Riverwatch is a daylight camp raised on the first root-island that endured the Greenwater’s floods. White cords protect living paths, communal stores keep expeditions supplied, and every hunt begins with bright poison evidence and a marked way back to the landing.

Levels 25–60
Route character
Communal recovery camp, poison preparation, layered jungle hunts, and no lodging

01

Recover on the lasting levee

Three cut reeds lead from Jungle River Landing to Omari’s seed table. Omari keeps the camp’s bank record; Nali keeps the communal depot; the task apron leaves enough room to read poison work before accepting it. Riverwatch is a refuge before danger, but it is not residential: no guest hut, deed board, or purchasable house waits inside the camp.

02

Read poison before movement

The first safe bend shows bright ground, shed skin, dead minnows, and treated scratches before a snake can reach the civic platforms. South branches add spit-burned leaves and ambush signs; canopy routes add cracked fruit, web height, worked arrows, and roots moving without wind. Each warning belongs to a different pull and a recoverable lane.

03

Choose how deep the canopy answers

Poison Fern Path and the ambush clearing teach movement before the ape, spider, hunter, and spirit approaches. The Overgrown Temple and Spider Matriarch remain separate commitments with their own evidence and visible returns. Carry antidotes, keep the white-cord law in sight, and leave enough daylight for the levee walk back to the boat.

Traveler notes

  • Riverwatch has a working bank, depot, and task board, but no lodging or purchasable houses.
  • Keep the first safe bend behind you when entering Poison Fern Path.
  • The free levee road returns to the landing, where the Stonebrook boat costs 40 gold.

Services and roadkeepers

  • Omari’s seed table keeps the camp’s bank record and witnessed coin lots.
  • Nali’s communal depot stores antidotes, venom sacs, expedition gear, and travel coin.
  • The task apron posts poison-path and ambush work beside visible return advice.
  • Antidote preparation and clean herb tables face the camp before hostile ground begins.
