Beyond the Forest Fork

East Road Depths

Beyond the last farm boundary, the East Road becomes Stonebrook’s first complete lesson in reading danger. One branch narrows toward a defended wolf lair; the wider cart track shows that someone has been studying the town’s freight.

On the road

East Road Freight Track

The wider fork carries the evidence of a town road being watched and exploited.

01

Choose at the Forest Fork

A blue-topped marker points home where the maintained road divides. The narrow branch carries feeding sign, sprung traps, and a worn scrape toward the Wolf Den. The broader track holds wheel room and the evidence of interrupted freight. No service waits beyond the fork, so the decision begins with supplies and a remembered retreat.

02

Follow the wolf sign

The den approach shifts from an ordinary hunting pause to bone scatter, failed restraint, and a defended threshold. Inside, a visible return stair and separated lanes teach cautious pulls before the deeper chamber. The route rewards a completed hunt, but its first lesson is how to leave with that reward.

03

Trace the stolen freight

Cut fence wire, an abandoned handcart, Stonebrook grain sacks, and soot behind a boulder turn the southern branch into a story of deliberate reconnaissance. Orc signs appear only after the economic damage is clear. The cave beyond is occupied camp ground, with practical salvage rather than a mysterious treasure vault.

Traveler notes

  • The blue marker at the fork is the last lawful recovery point.
  • Wolf and orc routes use different ground, evidence, and threat spacing.
  • Clear entry pockets keep every descent connected to an honest return.
